Keeping children happy, safe and healthy

The Southlake Y provides childcare on site including before and after-school care for Crown Point Community Schools. Peace of mind for parents, fun activities for kids.

Child care while mom or dad workout

The Kid’s Zone and Hoosier Commons provides child care for the convenience of our members and non-members while they are working out. Child care is free to children who are members /$5 per hour for children who are non-members.  Our qualified staff provides a safe, clean, and friendly environment to ensure both parents and children have an enjoyable time while they are at the YMCA. 

We have toys, games, books, puzzles, videos, and play equipment that is age appropriate for all children.

Kid's Zone Hours and Rules
All hours subject to change.
Monday - Thursday
8:00am - 7:45pm
Friday - Saturday
8:00am - 4:45pm
Sunday
1:00pm - 4:45pm

  • Children must be no younger than three months and no older than five years
  • Children must have shoes on while in the Kid’s Zone.
  • Diapers and wipes MUST be provided by parents.
  • Snacks are not allowed in Kid's Zone. Bottles and cups are fine. Please label all bags, bottles, cups etc with child's name.
  • Membership ID is required for drop-off and pick-up.
  • Parents must check-in with staff every hour.
  • Children may not be in Kid's Zone for more than three consecutive hours.
  • Relatives and babysitters are not permitted to bring other children.
  • Staff my refuse service to any child for suspected illness or disciplinary problems.

Hoosier Commons Hours and Rules
All hours subject to change.

  • Open to all members with membership card
  • Children five and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the Hoosier Commons.
  • Children 6-11 must be signed in and a parent must be in the building at all times.
  • We have a number of activities available for use, including board games, coloring, foosball table, air hockey, pool table, ping pong table and a Kidz Place game station.
  • Mon-Fri from 4-5pm the Hoosier Common Cafe is open to provide snacks for a small charge. 

Before and After School Care

K Care
Morning Kindergarteners are picked up at the end of their school day on the Y bus. They will need to bring a sack lunch. After lunch they will do activities such as arts and crafts, board games, gym time, learning activities, etc. Swimming is scheduled on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 2:30pm. Please bring a swim suit and towel on these days.
After-School Care
Children are brought to the Y at the end of their school day by bus. They will be signed in by staff when they arrive off the bus and able to purchase a healthy snack from the Hoosier Cafe.  There will be structured gym activity daily and fun nutritional facts.  Their afternoon will also include “free-time” which consists of: game room, computers, gym and playground activities. YMCA core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility will be introduced during their stay. Children must be picked up by 6:30 pm.
School Break Care
Children that attend these days will need to bring a sack lunch, swim suit and towel. Children will swim from 2-3:00pm on days that swim classes are not scheduled.

Pricing

  • $24.00 for No-School Days
  • $12.00 for Kinder-Care + After-School
  • $6.00 for Before School, Kinder-Care, or After-School care

Before and After-School Care is only available to Southlake Y members. To participate in any of our school care programs, parents need to purchase a punch card at the Welcome Desk in advance. Cards are available in the following amounts: $30, $60, $90, $120.
